pics4peace Platform wins International Design Award

YEAH! The joy is great! The intensive work of our website makers "bueroparallel", who are responsible for concept and design, and pics4peace for the content has paid off. Our online platform against extremism received theRed Dot Design Award 2019.
We hope that this will draw even more attention to our important cause, especially at a time when politics in the world seems to be coming apart at the seams. The pics4peace website was pretty complicated from the start. It should be able to do so much, according to our chairwoman of pics4peace e.V., Pia Beckmann:

"It needed extensive community functions, large presentation areas, in order to satisfy both the artistic and the communicative demands of the project. It had to correspond to the digitally influenced interaction behavior of young people and yet also be exciting to look at for the generation that bears responsibility in politics and society. We wanted an open competition aimed specifically at young adults so that they could make their views and feelings publicly visible. But also films about the activities, a diary that keeps up to date, networking with other social media. In everything, the focus should be on the content submitted and developed, whether as text, short video, song, photo or image, and on the people who participated."

No easy feat. But even at the first meeting with Norbert Diedrich from bueroparallel, he said, "We don't want to build just any page. It must become - like the project - something very special. That this has been achieved has now been officially confirmed. This is not only due to the good cooperation between the partners, Diedrich and Beckmann are sure, but also to the enormous creativity that was put into content and form from the very beginning. Nothing was given away. After all, the future was at stake. The representatives of the city of Würzburg, from the city councilors to the mayor and the employees of the Department of Culture and the Sparkassenstiftung, who helped support the online platform of pics4peace, also saw it that way.

"We are super happy that our application film was so well received, especially Mario Väth, who was our main contact person for the pics4peace project,"

said bueroparallel's managing director Norbert Diedrich. Over several days, experts had intensively reviewed, discussed and evaluated a total of 8,697 international competition entries to finally award the best ones.
"Anyone who emerges victorious from such a strong and international field of participants can be deservedly proud of oneself and one's achievements," said the CEO of the Red Dot Awards, Professor Dr. Peter Zec.

The award will be officially presented to us on November 01 as part of the Designers' Night at ewerk Berlin. There, the Winning Exhibition "Design on Stage" will exclusively present the award-winning communication design works for one night. The site of pics4peace will be there. There are of course pictures on Instagram for you!
