The time had finally come:
The book "Greta Fischer - Kinder auf der Flucht" ("Children on the Run") has been published. A book about the play that the Dachau kids from the Greta Fischer School co-wrote over the course of a year with the support of playwright Wolfsmehl.
The day of the premiere finally arrived. There was great excitement in the run-up. First, the play was presented to the school family in the school auditorium. Thunderous applause!
Finally, on November 30, the play was to be shown to the whole of Dachau in the large Ludwig-Thoma-Saal. Would anyone come? The worry was unfounded. The hall was almost full upstairs and downstairs.
The tension was rising to almost immeasurable proportions. But Wolfsmehl managed to remind the theater kids of the essentials in advance. They mentally went through the stages of the play in bullet points. They became calm. Then they disappeared backstage. The lights went out. The show could begin.
After an introduction by the school management, the stage was clear. Martin Wollenhaupt from the SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG summarized the event very well in his article "In the footsteps of Greta Fischer". Read for yourself.
A huge success, which was not only reflected in a book, numerous articles and a video, but also in mature, happy children and young people who know they can do something. They can make a difference and encourage other people to join in.

Thanks to all the kids, to Wolfsmehl, to Greta Fischer researcher Anna Andlauer and all the partners of the project and of course to the sponsor, the Friedrich Bödecker Kreis and the "Kultur macht stark" program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research!
